Alright, So Bernstein and and Todhunter Can Tell Me About the History of Probability, but What About a History of Statistics?

Well, first of all the history of statistics is very much tied up with the history of probability theory, but if you're looking for a book that focused more on the evolution of modern statistical science in particular without going off into the tangents surrounding other areas of risk management that Bernstein does or going into the formulas Todhunter does, try I.B. Cohen's The Triumph of Numbers: How Counting Shaped Modern Life. It's written in a similar style to Bernstein's, but its focus on data instead of theory makes it a more a statistics history, not a probability one. :)
